Actually Budget was very reasonable and that truck drove like a car. Would use them again. This morning clear and sunshine, clouds over the San Juans. It's sunny and 55 degrees now, very nice morning. Heading for a walk around town. Will take pics and post them later. Oh this was my view this morning -

Hey Jim,
Would you mind posting an abbreviated version of what happened in Part 1 and Part 2? I found your threads initially with Part 2 and I think I got 30 pages or so into it. Since your stories have a tendency to have exciting twists and turns, I'd really love to know what happened (but without reading the entire thread since occasionally it would get derailed).

Walked around town today, very pleasant about 60 degrees. Walked about 3 1/2 miles around. Here's a few photos:
Trail Town Still a new business, makes his own whiskey and tequila.
Construction on HWY 62 that seems to have been going on forever:
New athletic park, has new tennis courts, soccer fields, a skateboard area, very nice:
Town park, you can see the grass is green but the trees are still thinking about getting their leaves out:
I don't know if this is for the Social Workers after they see clients all day, or for their clients. Thought it was kind of funny:
They deliver mail in jeeps now, darn:
I see gas prices have gone down:
This replaced the Galloping Goose Cafe, there's a fresh fruit and veggie stand next to it on HWY 550:

Beautiful photos, I love Ridgway. Spent a couple of weeks in the area last fall, some of the best scenary in the state. Congratulations on finding your way back!

I'll try, ok cliffnotes:
2009 - Retired from Arkansas, visited relatives in Colorado, the idea of NO humidity was appealing. Altitude killed me, gasping for air. Drove around the western slope and visited every town here (HATE the front range). Settled on either Paonia or Ridgway to retire to. Decided on Ridgway. Moved there (er here). Moved in fall, spent one winter, one summer, another winter. LOVED it. Then moved to Delta to help relatives and be closer to them. Spend two years and two miserable hot summers there. Hated it. People rude, unfriendly. Summers unbearable 100 degrees plus every day, howling daily hot winds, mosquitoes, stupid irrigation wars, stupid cows. Cows are really stupid, yes they are. Decided to move back to Ridgway. Here I am. Happy happy joy joy.

@Jim .....we may have walked right by each other on the sidewalks of Ouray yesterday. I was there too, but spent most of my time soaking in the vapor cave at Weisbaden. Also experienced a delightful downpour at the outdoor pool. I went into the pool to keep from getting soaked by the rain.
The pool was hotter than usual. Must have been about 105 degrees. It felt great with the cold rain bouncing off of my head.

I wonder if Jazz is an equity locust in his new place? Hey, it can happen to the best of us. If I ever sold and moved out of the East, I likely would move somewhere cheaper, right? What's the opposite of an equity locust, I wonder?

Spent all day Saturday, like 12 hours in Delta mowing, weed eating, repairing a fence line, and stupid irrigation pipes. It was SO nice to drive up to Ridgway when I was finished at 7pm. When I left Delta it was 75 degrees, when I got home it was 50 here. Sunshine this morning a few poofy clouds and very nice outside. I may walk to the town park and lay under my cottonwood tree today, and fall asleep.

The pool was hotter than usual. Must have been about 105 degrees. It felt great with the cold rain bouncing off of my head.
