So if you get pinched for being to high to drive and you are also drunk, will you get a double DUI?

You could try snorting a little meth or taking a couple of hits of speed so as to cancel out one or the other substance and get only one DUI that way. Or you could really make things interesting and get a prescription for adderall along with your one for medical marijuana. The case could end up in the courts for years and hopefully you'd be dead by time they figured out what to do to you.

Don't know where you are. In FL. DUI means driving Under the Influence. Booze or drugs, even prescription drugs.

Yeah, then they'll call you a Double-Doper, too.

In California, my parents had a friend named Dick Bell. The cops stopped him one night for a 502. He told the cops, "You'd best give me a Ten-oh-Four." The cops asked, "Oh yeah? What's a 1004?" Dick said, "Well it's two-502's, because when you're done with me, I'll eventually be coming back this way."

Another story about Dick Bell... he went to a psychologist for marriage counselling with his wife one day. The psych asked him, "So, do you talk to your wife when you're making love." Dick said, "Sure... if there's a phone handy."

Yay, another stupid law. I wish that 5ng limit that they pulled out of their asses actually had some science behind it.

In no way, shape or form do I support impaired driving. But I also don't support punishing people for driving while unimpaired.

From what I can gather someone can use cannabis on Saturday and still register 5ng on Monday or Tuesday.

There is no road side breathalyzer that can accurately detect impairment. But I bet the media are going to have a field day every time there is a fatal accident and a blood test shows more than 5ng (which by it's self tell us nothing and a dead driver can't defend themselves).

Once again to be perfectly clear - I don't support any kind of impaired driving. There are going to be a lot of scapegoats before this law gets fixed. It was rushed through to meet a deadline...

Of course that deadline was set by an equally poorly written amendment. I voted no on 64, not because of legalization, but because it was horribly written. It is now enshrined in the constitution and cannot be changed without an amendment and a vote by the people.
