Heavy lightening storm, some mud slides closing county roads. Good thing the temp went from 90 to 68 in about 30 minutes.

Nice! It was unofficially 102 today in Pueblo and its still over 100 with very few clouds. I am still watering my lawn every day but I suspect this will be the last week for that.

Moisture will continue to get recycled underneath an area of high pressure for daily showers and thunderstorms, mainly over the higher terrain. Isolated storms will be seen over some valley locations as storm boundaries and disturbances interact with remnant moisture. Aside from the few storms that linger past midnight, most will occur during the afternoon and evening hours. Storms will be slow-moving with locally heavy rain, resulting in the possibility of flooding with debris and mud flows in stronger storms. This pattern will remain unchanged for the next several days into the early part of next week. Temperatures will remain at or above normal through the weekend, before cooler air moves in next week.

Jim is exaggerating, but not by much. This is my 8th September in Grand Junction. The mean temp thru the first 5 days of the month is 79.9 degrees, the hottest first 5 days of September in any of those 8 years. The next hottest was 78.8 in 2007. The normal mean temp for the 1st 5 days of September is an even 70 degrees, showing that the 1st 5 days of Sept 2013, have been 9.9 degrees above normal.

It rained and now it's hot and humid at the game. Am I in Denver or Orlando?
