If someone moves to COLO from a coastal city, does it take time to adjust to the thin air? (Denver: buying, allergies)

You need to stay put for several months to be fully adjusted. Once you go back to sea level and spend any significant amount of time there, your body will need another few months to be fully adjusted again. Some people are quicker, but some not.

We were there anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months. It depended on the job. I found that taking iron supplements did help somewhat. But I never got to the point where I could resume normal activities without getting winded and tired easily. I couldn't get up a flight of stairs without stopping to catch my breath midway.

I died after flying to Chicago and driving to Milwaukee, so probably not.

Same with me. Working out at low alt. after leaving here I feel superhuman, about a 20% boost.

You will get out of breath if you exert yourself. I was moving boxes up and down stairs and it was crazy. Not a problem to worry about though. You'll adjust over time.

But no, not difficult to breath...You aint on Everest..

You will get used to it (like the above OP says)-remember you will generate more red blood cells because you are at a higher altitude-

That is so unusual. 4 months in Denver is plenty of time for your body to adapt. Normal people coming here shouldn't get winded walking up a flight of stairs to begin with. Have you been checked for COPD?
