Chronic hip pain from sports injury thinking of relocating to Colorado or California and was wondering what is the best area or city for Medical Cannabis? California is another option but cost if living, overpopulation, and general rat race feeling leaves less desired.

About Me:

85% retired working occasionally online monitoring investments.

Budget = Up to $3000 -/+ monthly rent (Could go higher if really nice place). After renting 1 year, most likely will buy.
Family = Only me, no children.
Hobbies = Swimming, walking, lifting weights, walks in nature/beach, bicycling, reading, travel.

I'm relaxed guy, enjoy old school BMX, some TV, staying up late, access to 24 hour supermarket. Enjoy living healthy lifestyle, biking, yoga, meeting new friends, etc. I like quiet, peaceful areas. Adult atmosphere and close to large airport a plus.

Thanks in Advance.

Ha! Dave, meet Joss.

I'd say south Broadway in the Englewood area. Between about Jefferson (Hampden) on down to near Belleview or so, there's more MM despenseries per block than I've seen anywhere. There's also lots of liquor stores, pawn shops, check cashing places and dollar stores, and gun shops... oh and fast food restaurants and Pizza joints.

But lots of MM stores... er laboratories... with pics of nice tasty purple-haired buds on the glass... oh, and a sign that says "No one under the age of 18 on these premises." Two per block in some cases. It's like a Bud war down there.

Wow, a budget of $3k/month is awesome, you could live most anywhere.

From the OP's description, the ideal place is Boulder, hands down. Just do it.

Mike could be right about Boulder but being so close to Denver it might feel like your are in the "rat race" still and it's more of a college town.

I'm not sure Pueblo would fit what your looking for but a number of retired people move here due to the climate and the fact we are large enough to have city Amenities yet small enough that it does not have the rat race feel you get in Denver or California. I would defiantly suggest looking at it.

Yes, you should defiantly look.

South Englewood is not a college town. Boulder is and Pueblo wishes it was. Pueblo is barely a high school town.

What kind of bicycling? Are you a road biker or a mountain biker? When you say swimming, what do you mean? Outdoor swimming, like at a city park or a nice apt complex, or at a gym or YMCA? Water parks? Water aerobics? (Example for Pueblo; Thatcher Family Pool at 801 North Santa Fe Ave inside YWCA ... but that was from Feb to May, don't know about now.)

I would mention golfing which is great in Colorado but perhaps not with that hip condition of yours. If not that, then perhaps Disc Golf... a perhaps more low impact sport.

Walking... like on nature trails, hiking, walking paths, etc.? A lot of trail heads in Colorado with a full range of difficulty.

I think that many folks in Colorado would take to the mountains more often if they could... either to live or as an escape, such as with a summer home. That would/could take you away from that college environment perhaps. Maybe you should check out the Western Slope.
