My heat was on! This is why I love Colorado. We experience every season every month.

Not likely to have any wind during the next few weeks with the inversion in place over the Grand Valley. Do you get the inversions in Ridgway?

Nope. It will be foggy in Delta and Montrose and sunny here. We do get freezing fog from time to time but that's due to the Uncompahgre River in town.

Another record low temperature set at Grand Junction this morning. At 2:50 am, the temperature dropped to -11 degrees F. This broke the previous record low of 2 set in 2009.

Here are some other low temperatures across the region. Very cold morning so bundle up and make sure the kids are bundled up before heading to school.

Aspen: -16, Cortez: -1, Craig: -29, Durango: 8, Meeker: -29, Montrose: -9, Rifle: -17, Steamboat Springs: -18, Vernal: -11.

It's -13 in Ridgway with freezing fog and 16.5" of snow.

Thanks for the stats Jim! That's what KKCO turned in on the 7 a.m. news. I missed their report on Gunnison, God only knows how cold THEY are! I can't say enough good things for the C-DOT dudes. Yesterday morning's drive into GJ was nasty as there was ice underneath that snow. The previous night it rained hard in the GJ area before the temps dropped.

Wow 16.5 inches of snow in Ridgway, here we have the sub zero temps but only about 2 inches of snow. I spoke to my aunt in Gunnison and she is reading -13 at her house at 8:45 this morning

@Jim.....Minus 11 in Grand Junction 'officially', but at my house just 6 miles from the airport where the 'official' temps are recorded, 3 different thermometers registered a low of 5 above. My house sits ona small mesa approx 100 higher than the Colorado flowing thru about a half mile away. That small elevation differential along with the proximity of the river makes for a temperature variation of 16 degrees.
