You've probably already found a job somewhere and settled down, but I wanted to chime in with my opinion...
I have everything that you said you were looking for: good market for S/W Engineers, 20 minutes from the greatest snowboarding in the US, and (contrary to paranoid stereotypes) a pretty damn good nightlife. It's about 10 hours west of Denver in Salt Lake City.
It's not as large as the Denver/Boulder area (which is good IMO), the mountains are closer, the boarding is better, and if you wanted to take a couple of hours in the morning to hit 5 or so runs... first tracks are SOOOOO good at Brighton or Snowbird!
Last year I went twice a week before work before tearing my ACL...

I've got my pass for this year and a brand new ACL thanks to some dead guy's body parts and it is only 20 minutes from my office to the lift. The salary you mentioned from last year's post is easily doable for a recent grad here.
