Unhappy job offer, need info quick, Please

My husband has a job offer to work as a Plumber in Vail, Colorado. He would come out and have to stay in a hotel until we can find a condo, apartment or house to rent. Here is the information that we need. Are there any hotels that rent by the week, in Avon, or any surrounding areas? Where would the best place to look for permanent housing? Some place affordable and has a good High School. He needs to make this decision quick - so we would greatly appreciate any information.

Thanks,
Tina

I can't give you any specific information on the Vail area. In general terms, Vail is a pretty high cost area to live due to the ski resort. Unless they are going to pay him well, it may be a struggle to find affordable housing there.

I agree, Vail is very expensive. But you may be able to find a place on the outskirts. bashep

We used to live in the Vail Valley in the early '90s. It was extremely back then, and is no better now. Twelve years ago, your choice was Edwards and Eagle for reasonable home prices. Today, Edwards and Eagle are less affordable and people are commuting from Gypsum and even farther out.

My advice is to decide on what you like in a home, and then expect less in exchange for living close to work.
