Quote from article:

"According to a report in the Rocky Mountain News, 37 people were killed across the state on Jan. 1, the first day the drug became legal for all adults to purchase. "

One clue to the joke/satire, the RMN closed it's doors in Feb 2009.

With the "(satire!)" clearly in the thread title...

It's like fishing with a rock as bait, and you actually get a bite.

Prohibitionists lie or mislead for big money. Over 1 billion have used cannabis since our earliest recorded history, but there is no proof that even 1 person has died as a direct of use. Also, it has 124 known medical uses that can include better quality & quantity of life rxmarijuana dot com/ good info on Wikipedia. Granny Storm Crow's list has 1,000+ good studies & verifiable anecdotes.

In oil form, cannabis reportedly has cured thousands from cancer & other fatal illnesses. Rick Simpson, in 2008 got skin cancer, rubbed on some cannabis oil & it soon went away. Then he started trying it on others with various cancers & other fatal illnesses. He spent his entire $1.3 million life savings to save the lives of about 5,000 people. US ordered Canada to arrest him as a drug dealer! Rick Simpson then fled to Europe. You can see his 58 minute video Run From The Cure online (free, of course). Best wishes, all.

The Cannabist (the Denver Post's site for all you want to know about rec pot) has a good column by Ricardo Baca, the Post's weed critic:

Did you really believe the “Marijuana overdoses kill 37″ hoax?

If you read The Daily Currant’s Jan. 2 online story called “Marijuana overdoses kill 37 in Colorado on first day of legalization” and believed it, you are officially. . .
