I apologize if this is a stupid question but….
I am a single 26 year old male who can not wait to move to Colorado but one thing that bothers me is that I am moving farther away from my family who live in Portugal. Flying to Portugal from NJ (where I live now) is very easy and quick, how are the flights to there or any other point in Europe from Colorado…if there are any? I’m thinking most of them would stop in NJ and or NY and I would have to get a connecting flight to Portugal. Is this true, has anyone had a direct flight from Denver to any point in Europe? I’ve done a little research on the Denver airport website and cant find any, hopefully I just stink at searching… ![]() |

Yes. British Airways and United Airlines (starting in March 2008) fly to London Heathrow. Lufthansa also flies to Frankfurt and Munich. These are daily nonstop flights from Denver International Airport.

It's definitely going to take longer, and you would have to change planes in London or Frankfurt, but you'll get used to it. It's part of living in the middle of the United States.

You should be able to go direct from Denver to somewhere like Frankfurt or Munich and then down to Lisbon. Orbitz.com has quite a few flights along those routes.

Yeah. The OP could fly BA/UA to London or LH to Frankfurt/Munich and changing flights there, or flying to Newark and changing flights there. Continental Airlines and TAP Portugal offer flights to Lisbon from there; US Airways also flies to Lisbon from Philadelphia. The only other reasonable choice would be to transfer in Toronto or Montreal on Air Transat. Personally, I'd transfer in Newark, though changing flights at London or Philadelphia aren't terrible ideas either. The lack of any other major US airlines flying to Lisbon at all indicates to me that it's not a particularly large market.
