Hello, all

I'm going to be graduating college within the next year or so and I was thinking about making a move to CO. I will be graduating with a triple major in accounting, logistics, and marketing, so I was wondering what the job market is like there? Also, I was wondering how accepting CO is of interracial relationships and where are the most openly minded communities to live? I'm a very active person and I've played college rugby for years, so somewhere I can get out and be active would be great. lastly, somewhere with night life would be awesome.

But why CO?

I've actually been looking at CO for years now and I have some friends that live there and absolutely love it. I'm looking for a change from the Michigan weather and scene and looking to finally settle down somewhere west or south. Also im really big into the outdoors and being able to hike, camp, and run trails.

Answer remains Denver. Good luck to you when you get out here!

Personally, I think it's doing pretty well. On the lower scale, I see help wanted signs everywhere. People are obviously coming here, as the city is growing pretty quickly (more so in/close to the city, not as much in the burbs like it was during the housing bubble).

I manage a small multi-regional courier company, and we're busy and always having trouble keeping good people.

Denver is the place to be right now, the only thing I would worry about is stiff competition when applying for jobs. But with the unemployment rate fairly low, surely there's somewhere for you?

Our job market isn't like the major cities of Texas, but isn't terrible either. Denver is the right option for what you asked about. People are not phased by interracial couple here. I live in Co. Springs which is less "open minded" than Denver, and when we visit the mall we see several interracial couples strolling hand in hand. Or at least we did when I first got here a couple years ago. I don't notice anymore. Coming from a midwestern town that was filled to the brim with racism, when I first checked out the city I was looking to see if racism would be an issue. It wasn't.

thank you all for your feedback. I actually might have a job lined up with RL transportation company in denver. I've heard that the housing can get really expensive out there.

what are some recommendation if i have to go outside denver for more affordable housing, but not huge drive?

It depends where the work location is, but generally most trucking companies are in the I-270/I-70 corridors.

Thornton and Aurora would be good places to start for affordable apartments.
