My company purchased a power plant known as Plains End LLC. It is in the Golden, Co. area. I will be in that area in the near future and I would like to visit the plant in addition to the Denver metro area. Does anyone have any info on the plant and its relation to the Denver/Golden area.

That plant is in Arvada, not Golden, although it is closer to central Golden than to central Arvada. It is a 111 MWe natural gas plant located near the junction of Hwy 93 and Hwy 72 along the foothills. It is a peak facility, designed for rapid starts/stops in high altitude. It is used by Xcel Energy to supply peak power to the Metro Denver region. It was built by Wärtsilä, a power plant building company based in Finland, and (previously?) owned by PG&E National Energy Group (not to be confused with Pacific Gas & Electric, the California utility).
