I agree. I have lived, off and on, in Colorado for close to 18 yrs. It was cute when I was younger, however, I am completely burnt out on brown foliage; or, little to no foliage. Additionally burnt out on the droughts and a short growing season (we have at least 4 mths - May-Sep). I am only out here because of my husband...once we divorce I will be applying right and left for a transfer back East (I am from Pa). Wish me luck on getting back to real trees and no sprinklers...and, my family!

I lived there for 15 years and I do not miss the brown back ground and the wind. I laugh every time I drive into colorado "colorful colorado"!? But it will always be home to me -I do miss the lighten, the cool brisk air,the stars, the elk ...............

I lived in Colorado over 30 years. Raised west of Denver, had to leave when parents transfered with work. Took 11 yrs. to get back. Hated every day I was gone. Had to leave a couple of short times for husbands work since then. Now am in Alaska on the coast (was in the Interior, laughing at all the references to mosquitoes!!!). I miss; BLUE skies, warm SUNNY dry air (yes used alot of lotion there over the years) the smell of the pine in the air in the mountains, electrifing, facinating, thunderstorms, the Aspens in the Fall & being able to walk through the forests easily instead of tripping through the undergrowth that is here, being able to be outside (in shorts) without a headnet on & a ton of Carters all over me (Spring through Fall), looking into the crystal clear waters of a creek or river & seeing the stones & fish below, not worring about going out the door because of the moose, grizzlies, black bear, mosquitoes, no-see-ums, white socks, knats..... Here on the coast theres not as many of the bugs, but in the yard & around town (pop.5,000) ALL the rest. Talk about trees, you ought to see what moose do to them in town! You have to build heavy wire cages around them & anything else you want to save. It's good theres so many trees. Mold ,rust, mildew, cold wet winds year round here on the coast. Could count on one hand how many days of sunshine there was this last year. Colorado has a few drawbacks, I've never missed it more.

What do I like about living in Colorado? The relatively affordable housing, the beauty of the mountain views, the weather, and all the things to see and do in Denver.
What do I dislike about Colorado? How about all the people who seem to think that it's their duty to tell everyone just how awful the rest of the country is by comparison. Here's a news flash for you: there are lots of wonderful places to live in the this country. Colorado is only one of them.

Heheh, so true. And I'm guilty! But will be leaving for greener, errr, brown pastures!
Like: mountains, clean air, sunshine, lack of humidity, lack of bugs, altitude, horseyness, mellow tempo.
Dislike: wind, dust, mountains blocking the sun @ sunset thereby shortening the days ( ) and New Life/Focus of the Family.
