Question Are homes near Grand Junction affordable?

Affordable for us would mean decent/good condition, safe, and good schools. We're not into McMansions and don't mind fixing a place up a bit. Main priority would be safety and schools for our kids.

Ideally we would like something around 2,000sf or less than that if it has an unfinished basement we could fix up. And no more than $200k. Impossible? Anything for $150,000? (are you laughing at me?

We don't mind living out a ways... Rifle, etc.??

We would dearly love to move back home and back near family but need to determine if it's feasible for us. From what I remember of 20+ years ago things are sure changing in Junction!

We have read all the pos and neg about Jct here on the site - but having difficulty finding real estate information on the surrounding areas.

Your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks!

Go to realtor.com, enter your criteria and you'll recieve a list of what ( if anything ) is available that matches your criteria. I ran a search for homes with a maximum cost of $200,000 and here's the list. I am NOT a realtor.

good luck with your search....Franco

Thanks Franco, I appreciate that. And if anyone has an opinion about which areas outside of GJ would be considered safe with good schools, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
