Sorry to be so vague, this is my first time posting and wasn't sure of hwo specific to get."
Usually at some point Charles comes in and asks the 5 or 6 specific questions that he asks.
I thought I'd be clever by answering your thread question about the duel. It was a unique question around here and thought it'd be kind of interesting to answer. I figured that Texas outnumbered Colorado by 6 times, so that's how I came up with that comment.
As far as suggesting that I go to Myspace is a ridiculous insult to me. I've been posting here for over a year now. I think I'll stick around here, thank you very much.
Now after reading my DM from you and reading the lack of humor from you and your insulting my manhood, I know where we stand. I'll leave you alone and I suggest that you keep your more negative opinions to yourself.

Just my opinion but........... people who are seriously contemplating moving here check out the very first thread on this site ( http://www.city-data.com/forum/colorado-springs/238856-index-key-col-spgs-threads-links.html) by Mike from back east and then get into asking specific questions.
I think those that dream of or wish they lived here, or anywhere else for that matter, post threads like this one. I think McGowdog made some of the same assumptions I did from reading your initial post. "Oh woe is me". That may not have been the way you intended it, but that's the way it came across.

Colorado has NEVER been part of Texas and in fact was part of a region called Aztlán and is the ancestral home of the Nahua peoples, one of the main Nahuatl legends relate that seven tribes lived in Chicomoztoc, or "the place of the seven caves." Each cave represented a different Nahua group: the Xochimilca, Tlahuica, Acolhua, Tlaxcalan, Tepaneca, Chalca, and Mexica. Because of a common linguistic origin, those groups also are called "Nahuatlaca" (Nahua people). These tribes subsequently left the caves and settled "near" Aztlán, or Aztatlan, my ancestors.................

I've lived in TX and CO. I grew up in COS and consider it my home. I have lived in TX 12 years now and still dislike it as much as the day I moved here. I share the same feelings you have but I actually know what I'm missing since I grew up there. Every year I get a little more bitter and I *hate* that because it is not the way I want to live my life.
Now that I have a family, house, etc. it has become so much harder to move back then when I was single and free. I should have done it when I had the chance right after college but sometimes life does not cooperate. The years just go by. If you feel a strong inclination towards CO than go for it. You can always move back but I doubt you will. Once I make it back I will never come back to TX!

Colorado would win in a duel, assuming it's hand to hand combat all vs all, we're in better shape overall, depending on where it took place we'd have the endurance advantage, Texas would start out well, but once they're out of breath after maybe 5 minutes it'd be a landslide to colorado, sending texas back south again like in the civil war. If it came to weapons as well, we have several bases, NORAD, etc etc.

That is inaccurate...Parts of Colorado were part of the Republic of Texas from 1832 to 1845. Additionally, as I am a Comanche (yes an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation, not one of these white "my great-great-great-great-great grandma was a Cherokee princess" people, but the real thing brown skin black hair and all) and my people roamed this far north to hunt and battle/raid the Utes, either way, it is home.
