So if what they say is true and pillows and mattresses have mites...
I'm going to sleep on the couch Mon night!

Taking everything outside on sheets and covered by sheets, weight 'em down,
...and killing those bugs!

It is supposed to be what, -5 at night!

We're goingto be basking in a balmy 15 degrees F tonight down here in the banana belt. I'm keeping on all my warm covers, too. I believe the critters you are thinking of are bed-bugs which have made a surprising come-back from when they last reigned supreme in the Middle Ages. I guess a tough new strain that's practically impossible to kill now shamelessly lounges on our velvet couches and satin bedspreads and anywhere else they feel like it. I've also heard that extreme heat can kill them, so you could also try using a hair dryer set to its highest setting and literally blow their little minds out.

You have to kill dust mites with heat. Cold won't do it, at least not in one night. Wash your pillows and put them in the dryer on the hottest setting for at least 30 minutes. That will kill most of them. Same with sheets and linens. For mattresses you just have to vaccuum them well and try not to think about those horror stories you hear. Bed bugs are more serious but can be eradicated with regular pest control.

I thinks it's because some of the ingredients in the pesticides that worked really well have now been banned......but I could be wrong about that.
