1) Current City and State = Sacramento, CA (former upstate NYer)
2) Why do you want to leave = So sick of the California grind. The heat, oh man the heat. 100+ all summer. The plethora of self absorbed people don't help with me wanting to stay either.
3) Where In Colorado and Why = Evergreen. My wfie and I love it there. Such a great little community. Denver, which is a really great city, isn't far a way. A much better place to start a family and raise kids in.
4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = Oregon Coast near Cannon Beach, Lake Placid, NY.
5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Nothing. I am searching for the right job and then we will give it a shot.
6) Anything else you want to tell us that we don't know? I miss the snow, I miss the seasons. My wife would never move back to the east coast so Colorado is our "compromise." Pretty good compromise if you ask me. I just fear Colorado becoming just like California in years to come though.

Colorado State Patrol
I don't know, but 50K a year isn't bad. Maybe I'm just not used to paying my own bills, but if you live within your means..... that can't be too bad.
I know I wouldn't be able to afford Vail Valley.... because it's the Jackson Hole of Colorado... but I've seen affordable housing in the Springs & the Suburbs of Denver.

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Waiting to hear from hubbys new job!

Was surprised to hear you state Cannon Beach of all places. I grew up in Oregon and my Family has a house on the Coast in Seaside. I spent many years in and around Cannon Beach. Small and limited job opportunities though.

1) Current City and State = Boston, MA
2) Why do you want to leave = Need a change of pace, a sanity check outside the east coast, and the sheer desire to move to a place that I last visited 2 years ago but constantly think about, and just to live somewhere new, as I've been a New Englander my whole life.
3) Where In Colorado and Why = Denver/Boulder area... I know, it's broad, but I enjoyed both places. So where the job takes me, I shall go.
4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = Washington & Oregon
5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Finances, lease, and myself. As much as I want to do it, it's taken some time to convince me that I'm sane in doing so (as I have a good job, family, friends out here, etc).
6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = I'm moving to Denver in late Oct., I'll be attending CU-Denver and pursuing my Masters degree in history, and I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do for employment right now, but the hunt is on, and I'm confident that I can find a job. I'm really looking forward to waking up in the morning to the mountains, to all of the music in Colorado, and just being someplace new.

1) Current City and State = Australia (was)
2) Why do you want to leave = Bored and because I can
3) Where In Colorado and Why = Grand Lake for the snow, snowmobiling, small mountain town, peaceful, beautiful (and I don't need to rely on the area for an income)
4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = None
5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Nothing, already moved
6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = met a wonderful American girl, got engaged and getting married in 5 months.
What more could I want? Life is wonderful...

I love the coast of Oregon. From Brookings all the way up to Cannon Beach. That's just the case, very limited with jobs. Gorgeous area though. And the Goonies was filmed there! Oregon to AZ must be a huge change!

You sure do know your stuff if you knew Gonnies was filmed there. Oregon to AZ was a good change at the time. It has been 15 years since we moved here, and like yourself, have been working on making Colorado our final destination. Oregon has natural beauty almost everywhere you look, but there is also beauty in a true Sonoran Desert Landscape as well. Best of Luck to you on your move to Colorado

1) Current City and State = Bergen County, NJ
2) Why do you want to leave = Corrupt government at all levels. Rat race. Overcrowded, too expensive, over taxed, over tolled, english spoken less and less by the new and emerging populace. Rude populace, high stress, traffic, pollution. Limited outdoor things to do, limited support of outdoor activities, Few people in age/social bracket to do things with and the recreational needs of the community not a priority. Lack of emphasis on health and wellness, local radio stations/music selection has become more and more 'junk'. Area has become the 6th boro of NYC. NYC? Who needs it?
3) Where In Colorado and Why = Denver/Lakewood. Outdoors/sports/athletic focused community. Great cycling, music, community concerts and festivals, plus microbrews too. Good emphasis on leisure and recreation. Pace of life more normal, more laid back atmosphere.
4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = Bel Air, Maryland and Newark, Delaware (both young/active communities).
5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = family, friends, the ocean/beach/boardwalk, a questionable job market in metro Denver, and contemplation of a career change. Still "Gun shy" from moving back east from the Boulder area.
6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = Spent 4+ years in the Boulder area but preferred Denver hands-down. The whole Boulder thing got old in the end. Love the city vibe and practicality of Denver (e.g. LoDo, Wash Park, Cherry Creek, Lakewood-Belmar, Pepsi Center, Redrocks).
