Thinking about moving to Colorado? Get in line and fill this out….. (Denver: environment)

1) current city and state - orange county, ca

2) why want to leave - can't stand the unrealistic people (botox and breast augmentations in high schools, parents unable and unwilling to teach their children some discipline, throwaway society

3) Where in Col. and why - would love Boulder area or another area near a good job market for my husband. Used to visit Col. often when I lived in Missouri

4) 2nd and 3rd - Actually all a toss-up - Washington state, and Minnesota

5) Holding us back - need jobs, have to sell home, and cannot decide between the 3 states - one big fear is that Californians I am trying to get away from also are finding a haven in Colorado! Have read very negative posts and press about Denver schools

6) We love the SNOW and it is a must, good schools are a must (4 kids from Elem to HS) and I am a teacher.

Also a concern is the cost of living in Col. - is it similar to Ca.?

1) Fort Drum, New York

2)Very Boring. To far away from a city. Watertown is not a city. Not enough shopping/entertainment/fastfood/resturant choices.

3)Fort Carson- Husband active duty but we had options to go to other bases. After doing a little research we found this area to be family friendly, lots of shopping! Has a variety of food places.It seemed a nice little city not too far from a major city with plenty of things to do. Most of all it doesnt seem to expensive.

4)We were hoping for some where in Virgina or over seas.

5) He is in Iraq.

6)We would like to buy a house and stay. We have 2 children an 8 yr old boy and an infant girl. We are still newly weds so we are excited about starting something new and building our life, family, and marriage!

2) Why do you want to leave = Lived in Denver (Arvada) a few years ago and moved away... Big mistake. Would love to move back.

3) Where In Colorado and Why = Denver Metro - Foothills

4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = Utah, Montana

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Employment. When I lived out there before I was the LAN Administrator for a small engineering firm that was opening up shop. Once complete I moved back when I should have stayed. I'm seeking a position as a LAN Admin in a Windows environment.

6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = I'm married with great kids that want to dry out badly!!

Where did you read negative posts about Denver schools? Please provide links to these posts or press.

Cost of living is about the same except for housing which is less. Heating costs are higher in winter.

2) Why do you want to leave= After 27 years of the miserable heat, humidity, crime, traffic, no seasons, high housing costs, and low pay...you would want to move too, LoL!!!

3) Where in Colorado and why= In Denver metro, mostly because of the teaching hospital opportunities (the pay is better) and University near by + I can say I have a Coyote Ugly in my city, hehehehe!!

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving= Need to pass my NCLEX-RN boards this Thursday (2/14) and get a job out there first then it's off to CO!!!

6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know?= I've been in EMS for over 5 years as a Paramedic and have always been drawn towards the healthcare system of service. I also love the cold weather and the non-humidity so bring it on!!!

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Finishing my MBA and Oklahoma City University. I currently work for the Air Force and am eligible to transfer after graduation!!

2) Why do you want to leave = Need to leave this small town. I'm young and I need a good starting city that's not too far from home.

3) Where In Colorado and Why = Broomfield, Highlands Ranch, maybe Golden. They're midsized and close to Denver and Boulder.

4) 2nd and 3rd Place States = 2nd-Minnesota, 3rd-California

5) What’s currently holding you back from moving = Finances and I'm only 18.

6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = I like oranges.

6) Anything else you want to tell us that we dont know? = Lived in Chicago all our life. Except three years in Germany. We feel Colorado will offer all the emenities we would look for and enjoyed in the past.
