Default Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA)

Borrowers receive hands-on assistance, an interview from The Denver Post, reports that Karen Harking, director of home finance with the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, said CHFA requires and pays for all of their borrowers to attend homebuyer education, which has helped keep the current delinquency and default rates at a minimum. She added that CHFA offers 30- and 40-year fixed-rate loans and has never done adjustable-rate mortgages or exotic mortgages. CHFA's newest refinance product is CHFA FHASecure. FHASecure is an FHA-insured 30-year mortgage designed by HUD. A borrower may be eligible for the FHASecure even if they are behind on their existing mortgage because of an interest-rate adjustment which caused their payment to increase.
