Winter Park, Colorado (Shopping)
I am travelling to Winter Park on a Ski Trip in two weeks. And I'm staying at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge and I was just wondering are there any convieniant stores close (walking distance) to the lodge as I understand that it is in 'The Village' about 3 miles from the main town. Thanks.

What kind of stores are you looking for? Kitschy places to shop or groceries?

Like groceries, our rooms are self catering so we don't have to eat out each night and can save some money.

There are two grocery stores, a new Safeway and a Rainbow (?) that moved into the space where the Safeway used to be, across the street. They're both over in Fraser, only about a 5 minute drive from downtown WP. That's where my family shops when we go up for a visit. (The Safeway is nicer, in my opinion.)
I'd have to look at a map to tell you where that is in relation to your lodge, but it's probably not walking distance, as neither store is particularly close to any big lodging. (save for a hotel or two, but you're obviously not staying there.)
There is a free shuttle that goes to and from the ski area; the route that goes to your lodge ::might:: go by the store, but it only runs until about 6 pm, so you'd need to do your shopping during the day.
Hope that helps!

Yeah that's great. Thanks alot. Guess I'll have to do one big shop at the beginning of the week instead of my usual daily trips to the shops to buy junk as is custom when I ski here in Europe.

There may be a convenience store/gas station nearer your lodging where you can grab junk food.

There's a 7-11 or something to that effect near my parents' condo that my brother and I always walk down to for some Ben & Jerry's.
Lemme know if you have any other questions about the area. I've gone on vacay there every year since I was 3.

Safeway in Frazer Colorado
We are coming to Winter Park for Christmas for 6 days. We have to stop at a store for groceries. Does the Safeway in Frazer have decent prices or are the prices jacked up because it is close to a ski town? I'm debating on stopping outside of Denver or stopping in Frazer. Any help would be appreciated.
