Speaking of crazies, random trail spikes (pieces of rebar with pointy tips) were found at Rampart last year ... intent to maim OHV tires or worse. I don't know that they ever found the culprit. There's also the occasional a-hole landowner who can't accept the fact that their property borders public land, and feel 'entitled' to put up illegal gates/signage to discourage use in their area. Or they cut down a bunch of trees or pile up deadfall to make trails impassable. Underlying issue is too many people, but that's a separate discussion.

Not surprised by that. Amazing how much time and effort people will spend just to ruin someone else's day. Funny you mention about land owners putting up signage and blocking trails. We've been looking into Utah as well since they offer quite a large amount of atv trail access and you can read about the same stuff on the BLM land. Since its all public use ranchers will come in and put up fencing and signs even though its all public land. I'm sure there are some hostile moments that take place.
