Hey I am planning on taking a weekend vacation in June. I can't decide between Denver and Colorado Springs. I am planning on taking this trip alone and I am a 25 year old female. I want some place that I can relax and still have a good time. This will be the first trip taking by myself and I have never been to either of these places. Please help! Thanks

If you have a car you can visit both and more.

What kinds of things do you like to do on vacation? Why are you focusing on just the big cities of Denver or Colorado Springs?

I will be driving from Missouri, so I will have a car, but I only want to spend about 3 nights not really enough time to see both cities. If you have any suggestions on other cities I should visit that would be great I don't know much about Colorado. I would like to hike, not a very long hike though. Honestly I am just wanting to get away from home for a bit without much stress.

If you want things to do in the city like museums and restaurants Denver wins. If your more into the outdoors and seeing natural wonders Colorado Springs will win just depends on what you are interested in.

Much depends on what you are looking for. A more urban look, or something more rural, nature, tranquility.

I live in COLO SPGS...guess what....I recommend COLO SGPS for a 3-day vacation.

Hiking in the city itself at Garden of the Gods Park (a free city park) and at nearby locations around the city.

Consider a train ride up Pikes Peak on the Cog Railway. If your car is in good shape you can drive up there too.

If you have any military interest, then check out the USAF Academy which allows visitors.

Funky, artsy stuff is on the west side of town in "Old Colorado City" and the town of Manitou Springs which is where the Cog railway operates. Manitou has lots of shops and eats and has a bit of a hippy flair to it.

In Manitou is the Manitou Incline, a very steep hike up the side of a hill.

Lots more to see and do.

If I were a 25-year-old single female, I would find Colorado Springs BORING. (Just my opinion, of course.)

Btw, have you considered Boulder? It's only a college town with lots to do, it's only about 45 minutes from Denver, it's closer to the mountains, and I think it has a better"vibe" and much better scenery. (Again, jmo.)

...I don't know much about Colorado. I would like to hike, not a very long hike though. Honestly I am just wanting to get away from home for a bit without much stress.

I would choose CS (as a 25 yr old single female wanting to get away to a new place and new terrain)

Denver is HUGE (boring).

CS is worth the drive from MO.
Denver... I don't think so. (not really unique / Colorado / close to mtns). Denver is a large spreadout city with a brown cloud, located on the Prairie.

CS has many venues to get you into the mtns and scenery, Adequate night life with 3 military bases to serve.
