Question Moving to Sterling Co

My family and I are looking to relocate to Sterling in August before school starts. I am expected to graduate in August with my RN degree and hope to become employed at Sterling Regional.
My son is bi-racial (white/black) and I am curious if anyone has any feelings on how he will be received in Sterling.
Any other thoughts on Sterling in general.

My car died in Sterling and I spent 5 days there.

It's gray, gray, gray, with a lot of nothing also painted gray. The people were friendly but there was NOTHING to do. Eastern Colorado is nothing like the rest of the state except it gets very cold and has lots of snow.

Cute little town. The main employer is the prison. Very small-town atmosphere. Good gymnastics team at the HS. It's not known as a health care 'mecca'. Many people from there get their health care in Denver. You may have to broaden your job search.

I really like the people I know in Sterling. Your son will have a touch time at first but I think if you like a small town you can help him overcome that there. The restaurants there are terrible even by small town Colorado standards, if that matters. Ft. Morgan is a more sophisticated version of Sterling.

You have a lot of better choices than Sterling if you are a nurse and willing to relocate. Check the internet.
