Hi, My wife and I will be moving to Colorado in about 2 weeks. We sold our modular home in Fl, I expected a 30 day closing but the buyer paid cash. Long story short we are looking to rent a home 3/2/1 car garage $1350.00 max rent, until we are there for awhile and pick a nice spot to buy.
We will work in Aurora University of Colorado hospital, I have been unsuccessful in finding a place to rent in any surrounding Denver suburbs so I started to look at Colorado Springs, lots of rentals most are gone but still show up as for rent or they wont take our 50lb English bull dog. We even offered a larger security deposit and or to pay a years worth of rent upfront. Anyway I guess this is more of a rant/vent than a cry for help. At this rate will be at a hotel still searching sorry for the boring post thought maybe someone might be able to push me in the right direction.. Have a good one guys!

Getting a 3/2 with a garage that allows a dog in a decent neighborhood is going to be hard, but can be done. Have you looked out towards the eastern plains, there are several smaller towns within a half hour of that campus that should have cheaper housing available.

I found one rental in Bennett, a 3/2 for $1,500. I found one rental in Deer Trail, a 3/2 for $1,700. The one in Deer Trail was on 6 acres; medium to small dogs allowed. Those were in Trulia. Maybe you could find more on other sites, such as Craigslist.

If I were you I'd be looking in the northern Denver suburbs such as Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster, etc. before looking in Colorado Springs.

Hey Thanks Hawaii, I want to keep rent lower cause at the end of the year that money is gone, I'm just not ready to buy and obviously I would want to be there to see it, what I'm doing is sight unseen which I hate but it is what it is. I will look at those areas now! Thanks for the help I could use it!

Don't forget to factor in the amount of money you'll spend on gas and wear and tear on your car to keep your rent lower. Commuting from Colorado Springs to Denver is not something that will save you money in the long run.

Thats trure, saving 300 on rent a month may cost more, when factoring time, wear tear, and higher risk of car crash. The house I found today is an hour 20 min according to google maps but that maybe on best conditions... Thanks guys
