your daughter is a little late to the local employee housing market for this ski season.

unless she can find roommates to share with who are needing another person to split expenses in their already leased place in the area, she'll need to be looking some distance away, out of the resort area.

try looking in the downvalley areas, such as Wolcott down to Eagle.

network as much as needed to locate employee housing ... ask other employees, check public bulletin boards, contact property management companies. It will still be expensive to live in the area with a reasonable commute to work.

Craigslist and the Vail Daily. She's going to pay a lot, no way around it at this point. Around $1,000 for a bedroom more for a lockoff. Avon, Eagle-Vail, Edwards are her best bets, look on the bus line if she doesn't have parking at work. She can check with Human Resources if they have anyone looking for a roommate.

Did she get a full time year round job?

If so there should be a reasonable amount of rentals available, even now, for a 1 year lease.

It's an expensive valley there is no way around it and usually starting off in the valley you will have to live with other people.
