I can't seem to find the answer to my question on the Jefferson County Motor Vehicle website. I moved from the City and County of Denver to Jefferson County. I have two vehicles and a popup camper that have been registered in Denver and have license plates. Can I wait until closer to when my stickers expire, or should I head to the Jefferson County Motor Vehicle office sooner instead of later? Also, I like the months that my registrations are currently due for renewal -- if I re-register the vehicles now in Jefferson County, will the month that my registration is due also change, or can I keep the existing month stickers on my license plates? I don't really want three vehicles all due in the same month if I take care of transferring all of them to Jefferson County now.

I found information about what to do for NEW-to-Colorado residents, but nothing specific about a move from another county within Colorado.

Thanks for the help!

Why not use the telephone and call to ask your question?

(I believe license plates are State specific not "county" specific)

The Jefferson County Motor Vehicle office was closed at the time that I posted this question. But thanks for your awesome help!

Call your local county DMV and tell them your address changed. Then then renewal card will be mailed to your new address.

Perfect, thank you! Exactly the info I was looking for (i.e. They'll just mail the renewal to the new address when it's time, even though I've moved from one county to another). Thanks!

Ok, so just so everyone knows the answer to this question -- for JeffCo at least, and I'm sure other counties -- you can download a change-of-address form from the website. Your registration month from your previous county can stay the same. Problem solved!

The website, in my opinion, wasn't clear about what to do when moving from one county to another, but at least I have my answer.

Welcome to Jeffco!

When I moved here from Denver, come renewal time, I just went into the Jeffco office and told them I moved.
