A pretty quirky storm now that it's blown out of the western slope. Just a bit ago NBC affiliate KKCO gave some figures for snow levels; Ouray-2", Cedaredge-5", Rifle-7", Glenwood Springs-4". Grand Junction only got 1" out of this thing.

Temps? Quirky as well. Cortez and Durango coming in with -15 degrees, yet Grand Junction right now is 20 degrees.

Part 2 of this system kind of fizzled. But part one brought the snow to NW Colorado in a big way.

Ouray and 2", I don't get that. Jim9251, how about Ridgway?

^^Jim called it right^^We got only an inch of snow in GJ overnight, more east on I-70. The interstate was closed for a few hours early this morning with multiple wrecks, just got re-opened.

For pretty much all this week we'll see these fronts come in waves.

1 to 2 inches of more snow predicted for the Grand Junction area tonight, 4 to 6 inches at the 6000 ft. level, 10 to 14 inches in the high country. That's just tonight/tomorrow morning. KJCT is the ABC affiliate here and they say another system is rolling through Wednesday and another one over the weekend. We just might have a white Christmas over here, we rarely have them in Mesa County.

Another wave coming through Mesa County early this morning. Only an inch in GJ, 3 to 5 inches at the 5500 ft. level, looks like. Avalanche warnings are posted in a lot of mountain areas on the western slope. Another small wave is supposed to come through this evening.

8 below zero with a wind chill of 24 below zero on this Sunday morning. Well at least the sun is shining, not that it's making any difference.
