I want to know why do some people who live in Colorado deny that the legalization of marijuana is causing the population boom? Honestly, you have to admit some people will move here for that besides employment and the lifestyle.

Probably because Colorado was growing before the marijuana laws were implemented. Maybe the laws have had a marginal effect on the growth rate, but it is a stretch to say they are behind the "boom" (which is really not a boom so much as an acceleration of an already brisk rate of growth).

Its not just the great scenery and lifestyle, but the opportunity that legal cannabis brings. I would guess that Washington has similar numbers. I say "just go with it..."

Because it doesn't jive with the economic figures. Are there people moving here for pot? I'm sure there are, but the ones moving here for jobs outnumber them considerably. The state is expected to add another 65,000 new jobs next year.never experienced a decline in total population.

I honestly don't believe someone would move to Colorado just so they can smoke marijuana legally. In this day and age people can have marijuana delievered to their door thanks to "the dark net" with no risk at all. Providing they keep it in their home the chances of being arrested are slim. If they are busted the penalty is nothing to worry about providing they do not have felony levels (multiple ounces) in the house.
