RentJungle says: Your rent is below the expected range of $1,150 to $1,540 per month for a 1 bedroom in Denver.

"average apartment rent in Denver actually fell $5 between August and September to $1,359 a month" according to AXIOMetrics.

"Apartmentlist.com, which indicated that the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city of Denver last month was $1,090"

Colorado is pretty expensive, living in the mountains is really expensive but many of us make sacrifices to do so. Visiting is really important, it's a large and diverse state.
Thank you for your reply! I have noticed that there is a price on beauty when it comes to living where you want to! In time sacrifices are totally worth it to me/us. I rather live somewhere that I will enjoy! I'll definitely look into both tho - you never know what the future holds. And we definitely plan on taking a trip over to Colorado when we can!

Ah, that's IN Denver though. We're not looking to move into a city but rather a small or rural area outside of the cities in Colorado. Colorado does seem to have a slightly high cost of living but the terrain and beauty is totally worth it.

To the OP- I see you made the same inquiry on the Washington State forum. With the same criteria. So I have to ask you, between you and me... what's the attraction about Shell gas stations? They seem about the same as Conocos, the other big-brand choice here.

Since others here are suggesting Glenwood Springs -- and it is divine -- I should pass along the cover story from the Denver Post this morning, reporting that it is the most expensive place in the country to buy health insurance, by a lot. The whole I-70 ski corridor suffers this, which is ironic, considering the injury opportunities it offers through vigorous outdoor sports.

We have our eye on multiple states but wish to see which suits us better. Colorado being one!

Shell gas has premium gas that we prefer. I'll definitely look into that. Health Insurance is expensive anyhow, but that will be worth looking into. Thank you!

Yes, we are interested in Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Those are our Top 3 states. We are searching for info to look into each state to see which is most suitable for our future.

FWIW, due to the altitude, available oxygen, and subsequent octane requirements, premium gas here is a lower octane than other parts of the country. 91 is the best we get, while other places can get 93 or 95. We also tend to run E10 pretty consistently from most stations most of the year. Those that don't run E10 will have winter blend gas that is oxygenated, so it contains higher ethanol content making it equivilent to E10.

Yes, and for the same reason Regular grade is 85 instead of 87. If you want 87, you buy the Super grade (I think that's what it was labeled), at a higher price of course.

Is Premium desired for the motorcycles? Maybe you should add Sturgis to your list of places.

What does that mean exactly?

Anywhere on the coast or the I-5 corridor in Washington & Oregon is likely to exceed your limited rental budget. The eastern, less populated portions of those states will be your best bet to find rentals in your price range.
