New to Colorado currently staying in Los animas county. Currently looking to get situated and find a place to live. Also looking for some income taxed or under the table.

I have a few questions.. I thank you in advance for all advice and help.

Where are some nicer places to work in the region of Trinidad

What kind of community events happen here? Carnivals or other festivities..

What are some of the more needed labor services for this area. (Carpentry, HVAC. Landscaping?)

How is the local hospital and do they airlift to a larger city for emergency events?

Is primero the best school for grade school?

Some job openings http://jobs.monster.com/l-trinidad,-co.aspx
http://www.indeed.com/m/jobs?l=Trinidad%2C+CO

Stumbled on this firm. No direct knowledge but you might look at it. Purgatoire Valley Construction, Inc. - Career

Walmart usually has openings and might be a fast path to a paycheck while perhaps looking elsewhere.

For events, google: trinidad colorado events and you'll get at least a half dozen relevant sites.

There is airlift available to Pueblo. http://www.alecbuck.com/southern-col...e-in-colorado/
Probably can get to Colorado Springs or Denver if that is necessary, though it may be on two hops.

Thank you for the construction link. I recently moved here with family and we are trying to settle in. Legitimate work seems scarce and I am interested in under the table work and networking. If anyone needs help with anything please pm me.

This link won't last long but here is a list of other Trinidad threads. http://www.city-data.com/forum/searc...rchid=22227513

If it inoperative before you try it, use search in upper right hand corner of page, then advance search, put in Trinidad and search in titles only to recreate it. You might try to find locals in these threads and perhaps contact some of them by private message, if they talk about the economy and if you are bold enough to ask. Might be worth a try.

Is your heart set on Trinidad for some reason? Nothing against the town, but some people who have posted here don't care for it much, and it can be hard to find work there. If you like that area of Colorado, why not head up north a bit and check out Beula or Westcliff? Both Fremont and Custer counties have any number of appealing little towns from which you can commute to Pueblo for work. Granted, Pueblo's economy could be a little better, but it sure beats that of Trinidad. Just a thought.
