We are planning to go to the Vail Film Festival April 7 - 10, and we're looking for the nearest campground/ RV park that will accommodate our 27' RV. Also, wondering if and where we will find parking close in to town in order to go to the film festival.
Thank you,
A

A lot of places (Forest Service and otherwise) probably aren't open with services then. This place is Aunt Sara's River Dance RV Resort & Campground | Gypsum, North West, Colorado | Colorado Vacation Directory
40 miles to west. There is another place near Breckenridge, much more expensive.

Vail's ski season ends that weekend. Parking in the vicinity of the mountain can be quite difficult when the skiers are about. According to the town's website, there is limited accommodation for large vehicles (RVs) in their bus parking lot, with a fee. There is not information about whether this can be reserved, or is first-come-first-serve.

With a large vehicle, and during ski-season, parking "close-in" may be difficult, plan to arrive very early in the day. Vail has an excellent free bus service, which connects most of the parking, hotel, and resort areas. To be clear, are you planning on driving your RV into Vail, or will you be towing a car?

Still in ski season ... and on the heels of some very strong recent snowfalls ... ski parking users will dominate the public lots in and around Vail Village at the time.

Aunt Sara's most likely the only place open that you'll be able to camp with a 27' RV.

If you've got a toad, the main parking garage structure at the Vail Transportation center will be the closest parking to the film festival. It may/may not be full at your arrival ... the TOV will have signage directing you to outlying areas such as by the East Vail area recreation areas (by the Ford amphitheater, for example). These outlying lots are served the the TOV bus service, which is free and circulates frequently on the routes. The close-in TOV bus route connects with bus service down-valley, so you can get to the Transportation center from outlying areas. Likely the folk at Aunt Sara's can advise you on this.

On such a weekend in ski season, I wouldn't even try to park a 27' RV in or around the TOV. Parking for such a vehicle is very limited even in the summer months. At best, within the TOV proper during ski season, there is very limited public street parking for cars and the parking lots are owned by the respective condo's, hotels, and private residences ... generally, access is limited and permits or very limited time public parking for cars is aggressively patrolled.
