Thanks again! I passed along the fishing advice!

Quick question to anyone who may know: Where can one rent month to month in or near Cortez? Those guys need a temporary home until I get there.

This one might https://westslope.craigslist.org/apa/5605705648.html
Doesn't say but has place(s) on the market a lot. In wide open / sparse country is probably part of it. Don't know it first hand.

This is the only listing I saw advertising month to month https://westslope.craigslist.org/apa/5591746448.html

This place http://sophiaretreatcenter.com/
has advertised small rooms month to month in off-season that were affordable. Don't know what they charge in peak season or if they are as open to affordable monthly renters. But you could check into it for now or later.

If leary of Craigslist, call property management firms / real estate office. There can be issues with those listings too though.

Thumbs up Excellent Thread

Thanks everyone. I'm in North Carolina near Holden Beach on the Atlantic and miss the Colorado Western Slope country and family in Durango. I have been thinking about relocating to the Cortez area and also interested in Walmart for employment, although I am a retired full-time RV'er, so I only need part-time work. Does anyone know if the RV parks there have people staying through the winters? I saw the snow! But it's doable and I love the other 3 seasons in the mountain country. Thanks so much! campgal63

This place Visiting Mesa Verde? Camp at Sundance RV Park in Cortez, Colorado
is open year round and in town.

Same for this one Your Mesa Verde RV Park - La Mesa RV Park in Cortez Colorado
Probably should check out the neighbors as much as you can. With an in town location I'd wonder if some long term residents might have issues. Maybe rent a night or two before committing longer.

There may be others.

Dec. to Feb. the highs are typically low to mid 40s and lows in mid to high teens, though temps on occasion may be 10-20 degrees warmer or cooler. Not much snow usually and pretty quick burn off except for the biggest storms.
