Soon after coming over Wilkerson Pass on US24 into South Park, there is an encampment with a bunch of flags flying on the north side of 24. Does anyone know what this is all about? Thanks.

My first thought was Boy Scouts, or native Americans, but I don't think that's the case. Very curious.

There used to be an annual Civil War Re-enactment camp near Como. Maybe the location changed.

I noticed that last weekend when driving through. I wouldn't call it an encampment so much as a bunch of scrap lumber and pallets, but I was busy driving so didn't scrutinize it too closely.

I thought it may be Robert Dear's property, but after looking up his name in the Park County assessor records, he actually was much closer to Antero Junction than where this property is at out in the middle of the park.

I did a quick browse of the online version of The Flume, and couldn't find anything on it. You might have to ask someone in Hartsel.
