Exactly. Just like the news stations that have taken to using "feels like" instead of wind chill.

Most common question I hear from outsiders:

Does everybody smoke pot there?

My answer: I rarely see it. But I'm not looking for it because I have zero interest in the stuff.

I was at a concert and the lead singer said 'How do you people breathe here?'.

I have been saying that since we arrived on July 11! Though each day gets a bit better.

That's because some of the "meteorologists" are as dumb as dirt. Take Belen "my mouth moves faster than my brain" Deleon on Ch 9, for example. I love it when she (frequently) says, "make you you lather on that sunscreen today. It's going to be very hot today." Like temperature has anything to do with UV exposure.

One of the most common questions out-of-staters ask a Coloradan is, “At what elevation do deer turn into elk?” Well, we finally have an answer for you...

I can confirm that. I worked at the visitor centers in Boulder and Nederland - the deer/elk question was asked frequently. That and "what weekend do the aspen change color?".
We started a notebook of the silliest questions. I wish I had a copy of it, they were hilarious.

I think Colorado may be one of the most misunderstood states, environmentally to people who have never been here. I find that many have no idea that most of the state is very arid, receiving very little precipitation throughout the year. I have found that many think Colorado looks like coastal Pacific Northwest.
