I don't know anything about them, but First Choice Fitness and Elite Family Fitness come up in Canon City.

Elite Family Fitness in Cañon City has a swimming pool. Florence and Cañon City both have outdoor municipal pools that are open seasonally.

I was offered a Job in Pueblo yesterday but starting salary was too low , maybe ok for Pueblo . I would definitely live in Florence or Pueblo west for the position. The pay cut was too much right now...

My ex worked at the prison complex in Florence. He lived in the Springs, but made the commute daily via carpool for several years.

It all depends on what type of community you prefer.

Penrose is close to Florence, and if you can find a place rent is decently priced for Colorado. It is a tiny place, but there are some great people. It has almost zero shopping options. We did recently receive a Dollar general, which probably doubled our retail space. It is ideally located for future growth, but with rural towns that isn't always desired. Luckily it is only about 15 minutes from Cañon, and about 5 - 10 minutes from Florence.

Florence is an interesting small town that seems to be growing, although slowly. The downtown area is mainly small bars, restaurants, and antique shops. If you want something more rural, living in Florence isn't a bad choice as far as Fremont county. The city seems to support local business and there a small yet developing artistic presence. With the right leadership, Florence could grow in to an awesome little town.

Cañon City has a few more shopping options, but higher rent and more people. It is still a nice, and for the moment relatively small town.

With any of the three places in Fremont County, be prepared for a somewhat rural life. With Cañon as the "hub" of the county options are severely limited on some things. Be prepared to make trips to either Pueblo or Colorado Springs, or utilize Amazon for shopping unless you are satisfied with offering from the few local stores. Medical services are also somewhat limited and you may find yourself driving to Pueblo or the Springs to meet healthcare needs as well. While those are some of the negative attributes, there are so many positive ones as well.

Pueblo West, in my opinion is a typical suburb like you could find near any other major city. The scenery isn't bad, but isn't amazing either. Considering the commercial development in Pueblo West, as well as the approximation to Pueblo, you have many more options for shopping and services than in Fremont County. The area has mostly newer an nicer homes as well.

Personally, I would recommend visiting beforehand to pick which are you like best. As with any other town or city in the country, all of your choices have pluses and minuses. Its more about what works best for you personally.

Interestingly, Florence has been featured twice recently in the media. I saw an episode on one of those house-hunting shows and then it was also used prominently in the filming of 'Our Souls at Night'.
