Possible move to Colorado?!?
Hello. I'm new to this site. Me and my boyfriend are looking at moving to Colorado sometime in April. We are in North Carolina now and have only been here for 6 months. We are just wanting to do some traveling and see different places before settling down some where. He's in marketing and I'm in education. Just wondering if anyone has any information on a nice and safe location to live in Colorado (apartment wise) as well as good paying jobs in the marketing and education field. I would appreciate any help you guys may have to offer. Thank you!

Moving to CO
The Highlands, Capital Hill, and Down Town Denver are fun places to live. If you want to live outside the city check out Lakewood and Littleton.
If you looking for work check out Fusion Staffing & Executive Search Group

Just an FYI on finding work - and not to scare you or anything. The job market in Denver is very competitive. I was just in the final four for a position with 2 people from Los Angeles, 1 from NYC all of whom where over qualified for the position. So just goes to show that over qualified folks from all over will throw their names in on jobs in and around Denver just to move to the Mountains.
I would check out the job market and test the waters prior to planning on moving. If you do a search there are some threads about job searches and how it may be a good idea to save up for 6 months worth of pay, then try moving to Denver and apply from there. Also check out housing prices as they are a little pricey.
Just some things to think about. Good luck.

What type of education are you in?
What is your rental budget?
Most people would recommend you find a job first then move.

That's great advice I'd follow as well, though it seems as if many employers are unlikely to interview unless you're in the city already. At least, that's been my experience the last few months.

Thank you! I am a Teacher in a Daycare, trying to finish my degree for Elementary Education. Our budget for an apartment is under $1000... We don't need anything spectacular, just in a good location and safe.

Are you interested only in Denver, or are you also considering other areas of the Front Range and the rest of Colorado?

Really, it just depends on the jobs. We're up for moving anywhere, just depends on jobs and security of where we live.
