Are there any popular locations along 285 that have notable views?

These caught my eye, along 285 or not really (depends how much time you- or others- have):

Probably way too long detour for you but Hopewell Lake NM on US64

Brief detour to CO150 to see Blanca Peak from closer and / or to see Great Sand Dunes NP

Rio Grande near South Fork

Creede

Views from 285 near Moffatt of Crestone area or go there

Views from 285 near Alder / Villa Grove

View of Arkansas river on 291 just off 285 north of Salida

Views of Mt. Princeton from Nathrop or up C0270 if clear

Maybe detour to Clear Creek reservoir on 24 before getting to Granite or sidestep farther to Twin Lakes on 82

Staunton state park southwest on Conifer

Just driving through South Park on 285 is full of gorgeous scenery. Views of 13,000 and 14,000 foot mountains abound. When you get to near the top of Kenosha Pass outside of the very small town of Jefferson, pull over and look back down the valley. BTW, I don't agree with NW Crow about going up Highway 24. It is an alternate way to get to I-70, which also has some gorgeous views, but either stay on 285 into Denver or, if you go up 24, then stay on it to I-70.

The mountains will still be covered in snow (hopefully) in early April. If you get clear weather, you'll have tons of great views with the sunshine and the clear blue Colorado sky.

Just be careful and watch the weather driving through South Park. It is a big open valley, and the winds can be very strong. You'll understand why there are so many snow fences.

Note that either I-70 or 285 going into Denver on a Sunday afternoon anytime after 12:00 will be a parking lot.

Yeah I got off track more than I probably should have, especially if time is short. But I did a disclaimer...
