I was looking at their news website earlier today and noticed a headline about people being afraid because vandalism is high. I hope crime can slow down a bit there...

It HAS increased and KKCO is generally regarded as the top tv network in the Grand Valley. And it's not just Grand Junction proper. As the link noted, Fruita had one neighborhood with a lot of vehicle break ins. Night before last not only KKCO but CBS affiliate KREX reported on several windshields being smashed in the Orchard Mesa area, which is around 15 miles southeast of Fruita.

Law enforcement has continually told people to bring their valuables in the house or else put them in the trunk and then lock their car. So the punks decide to bust windshields instead.
