Who can tell me about this city? How is the crime rate? What does this city have to offer? Is it a nice town to raise kids? Is it pretty there? Any info at all would be really great. Thanks!

Winter park is really not a town, it's a ski resort. The population swells for the ski season and then shrinks dramatically during the summer. There really isn't much in this town. If I remember correctly the closest grocery store is up the road in Fraiser. City-Data has its population at 662 but there is a lot of rural population. Fraiser the closest town only has a population of 992. Since people don't really live in this town there isn't really any crime. Historically ski resorts have very little crime, and the crime that does exist is generally petty theft at the ski resorts. There is only one movie theater in town and it is very small. The town is served by Middle Park High School in Granby which is about 30 minutes away when it isn't snowing. Denver is also about 1.5 to 2 hours away and you have to go over Berthoud Pass on the way. There is a train that goes to Denver during the ski season but it doesn't run during the summer months. The town is nice and would be a good place to raise your kids but it is very small, far away from anything including shopping and its population swells during the ski season. Being a ski town property is also expensive here, although not as expensive as other ski towns. You would be better off going somewhere like Leadville or Buena Vista or Silverthorne. Nice towns a little cheaper, more stuff around. Any of the mountain towns are going to have low crime rates and decent schools.
