Ouray or Silverton. Both small mountain towns that aren't nearly as expensive or pretentious as Telluride. And you simply can't go wrong with the San Juan Mountains.

Runninfiend,.....you are soooooooo right!!!!
OURAY is AWESOME!!!!

Years ago, I had NO idea what my husband was talking about. THEN,...we went to Ouray on THanksgiving (long story but, we had all of our in-laws and out-laws there at the Beaumont Hotel).
VERY expensive!! I wouldn't suggest it.( we could have flown to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for cheaper...but....I digress!)

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better to go in the summer(which I did later).

You had better bring your conenjos?sp?

Go there,.....you will never be sorry..I promise!!
