I lived in GJT for a couple of years. Leaving was the biggest mistake I've made... so far. That was ten years ago. It's not for everyone. I found it to be a little like living on an island. It's about a four-hour drive, east or west, to a major city. That was just fine with me. In two and a half years, I spent one night in SLC and drove to Denver once (on my way to Ft. Collins). There was more than enough in GJ to keep my attention. The landscape is magnificent. But if you like green, look elsewhere.
