What's the Dominquez Canyon Highway? Dominquez Canyon is a dirt road in the desert.

The infamous jazzlover took me there a couple of years ago. It is most certainly a dirt road, if not a 4WD-only. Amazing drive but in no way a highway. It was about 105 degrees there and I had taken two different allergy pills and was very woozy but I do remember it!

Perhaps they are thinking of Highway 141, the Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic and Historic Byway, a 150-mile paved state highway which winds through a thinly populated area where the high Uncompahgre Plateau meets the red rock deserts and canyons of the Southwest.

It’s a spectacular drive, the view of the Dolores River from the scenic overlook above the Hanging Flume is gorgeous.

Y'all are correct--they can call it whatever they like- Interstate Dominguez Canyon- and its still a horrible road- ok for a jeep. Hot as hell and intermittent cell and internet. Not a good place to get stuck. The view from the top of the river was nice.
