I live a few miles southeast from Canon City in the country, and I use a Sprint wireless card--the kind you plug into your computer. Altell's wireless card also works well. Just buy their wireless card, take it out where you might want to live, plug it in your laptop, and you'll find out if you can get it.

And this area is called the Banana Belt of Colorado. Namely, if we do get snow, and we do, it melts very quickly!! It's NOT like Denver.

Understand that Canon City and surrounding community is a QUIET community. In spite of the beauty of the Royal Gorge, the Canon City area is not a huge and poppin' tourist area. i.e. if you want excitement, this is not the place to be. But if you want peace and quiet and don't need the excitement, come here. There are a few great thrift shops, several churches, some fair restaurants (and GOOD Mexican), a great library, and views....plus more.

Peace and quiet is what we are looking for along with small town. Sounds wonderful. Good to know that the wireless connection works in the country. That is really where we really would like to be too. Good to know there is a great library. Thanks for your help.
