CO seems to have an "unwritten" policy that says you can keep your old state title, and just get CO registration & plates when moving into CO.

I was able to do this some years ago with a car I brought from IL to CO. Kept the IL title (no lien). Got CO plates. Later sold it to someone who took it to FL with no problems.

Well, crisis averted. I now have my car title in hand, even though it's from the state of KS and I live in CO.

I guess I'm good to go. Thanks everyone who provided suggestions.
