Anyone moved from the Bay Area to Colorado? (crime, schools)

How is your new life in Colorado? Jobs hard to find once you get there? Do you miss the Bay area? Let me know how the transition has been, I hope to relocate soon.

I moved from Santa Clara to Colorado in the late 70s. Colorado has much more affordable housing, and recreation opportunities focused on the great outdoors. The Bay Area has warm weather.

I used to work for Hewlett-Packard, so I traveled from Colorado to Palo Alto about once per month. Bottom line; the Bay Area is a great place to visit, but I prefer living in Colorado. We have less crowding, clean air and clear water, fewer illegals, affordable housing, lower crime rate, better schools, and 4 seasons.

The Bay Area has perfect weather. Period.

Biggest pluses: Cost of housing, much less traffic, beautiful scenery close by and always in the distance.

Biggest minus: If you have kids the cold weather can be a challenge for them to be outside easily like California. The parks won't be full of kids all winter. For adults the weather is a non issue except when driving on icy roads a couple times a month in winter months.
