In my former state of Massachusetts (where politics is a blood sport) the League of Women Voters sent out a short booklet around voting, with a summation of ballot measures and what a yes or no vote will mean. Also included a cheat sheet to fill in and take with you.
On the other hand, Colorado sends everyone a paper ballot, which is much appreciated.

I found resources like this that tried to give some information in plain English, without advocating specific positions, to be more similar to the type of LWV guide BDL is talking about (I used to live in Mass too).

There’s a Colorado Public Radio podcast called Purplish. They did an episode recently that describes the proposed redistricting processes in good, plain detail. They even explore all the caveats and vulnerabilities of it.

I was born in and lived in MA a long time and I remember the LVW books. But the blue book, while not the same thing, still is helpful.
