Looks really cool there! What's the weather been like in Denver? Do you live in Denver?

Driving from Telluride heading to Phoenix (direction South in pic), past mountain village and alta lakes road approaching Ophir where begins the second most dangerous section of the road during the winter for ice; and rocks just about any time. (You can see part of the uphill portion and the beginning of a very hairy curve in the distance to the left.) The first being, during the winter, Lawson Hill, which starts when turning left outside Telluride toward mountain village (Keep up your momentum!!). Past the guard rail is a massive valley with part of the San Miguel river with a great dirt road with plenty of "branches". Down to the left across from Ophir is a large tailings pile and some still standing mine rail tracks. Also, if im not mistaken, part of the ol' Galloping Goose RR bed (no tracks) is along somewhere straight down past the guard rail heading in the same direction toward Lizzard Head Pass. And obviously the dominating cliff face. And, I know it's that direction, to the right above and past the cliff face is the beginning of Mt Wilson, of which Wilson Peak (maybe the right most peak, hard to tell not the best angle) is on the Coors Cans! Continuing ahead (not visible) and past the hairy curve to the front are Trout Lake to the left and Lizzard Head rock on the right i believe.
BTW, unless you're a damn fine driver like myself don't take pictures while driving, especially here.

The only way to drive these awsome winding roads during i'd say low 70's weather..

Rico. (Named my malmute/german shepherd we got in Durango after this place) "How about Rico!"

Made this exact drive back in June 2009. Even pulled over at the spot of your first picture by Ophir and took some pics. Great ride....... brand new 335Xi coupe, gorgeous scenery all around. Spent the week in Telluride at the Bluegrass festival then drove down to Durango on CO145 to visit a relative.
