Im not afraid of mud but the avalanches I would def like to avoid! I was out there in February last year and it was dry as a bone and I was able to hike pikes peak ! Looks like we wont have such luck this year. Looking forward to skiing though . Thank you for the suggestions everyone !

Hanging Lake trail will be very icy. Crystal Mill trail will be snowy with crunchy ice, but probably well trodden, so snow shoes won't be necessary unless there has been a new snowfall. Microspikes in both cases will be absolutely necessary.
