The job is based in Vail.

We’ve scoured Vail classifieds and most of the rentals are for tourists at tourist pricing.

Thank you got all the feedback

I live here and have specifically told you where to look for rentals.

If you are looking at the Vail Daily classified ads, there are 27 rentals specific to the area, not a single one is for a tourist. If you are looking at craigslist, there are a number of vacation rentals and some regular rentals you just need to be savvy enough to understand which is which.

Your son does not need to live in Vail just because he is working there, this is a very small valley and commutable even from Gypsum.

He needs to live in Gypsum or Eagle.

The car doesn't need to be AWD, but he needs to buy snow tires for the winter. Not all season tires. Snow tires for the winter and then regular tires for the summer.

He will most likely either need a roommate, a second job, or you to help him out.

As a parent I think you should know that the ski towns are set up to pay just barely enough. The ones who make it there are constantly hustling a second or third job.

I used to live in Gypsum
Wife worked in Vail. Commute could be very bad in Winter

Lots of wrecks around Walcott close to a daily basis

Would not be fun for a FL driver
