Beautiful pictures. Thanks. I lived in Colorado for several years and never got to GJ.

When we told folks on the front range that we were moving to GJ. Most gave us blank stares. They had no clue. For the few that “got it”, they all raved about the beauty. It’s a very different part of Colorado. Almost more like Utah or Arizona.

Just south of Grand Junction is one of the prettiest and maybe most desolate drives in Colorado. State Hwy 141. Whitewater to Bedrock.

Hwy 141 from Gateway to Naturita is my favorite stretch of road in the state. I have ridden my bicycle on it several times. I live in GJ.

The National Historic Trail: the Spanish Trail, is just south of town and you can walk the wagon ruts along the Gunnison River.

My daughter goes to Colorado Mesa. I really like the downtown area. So cute and full of fun locally owned shops/restaurants. Love the Kiln (coffee), Main Street Bagels and Taco Party. The nicest Walmart I have EVER been in is in GJ. Some of the areas could use an upgrade. Don't love the business route through town, 12th from I-70 to the roundabout is just a bunch of fast food places/cheap hotels and the mall needs new retail options but honestly every city has their areas in need of a facelift/renewal. The Monument is amazing and incredibly underrated and the Palisade area is gorgeous. Sunsets off the hills are just stunning. CMU is a great school and is attracting a lot of Front Range kids for its affordability, great programs like their top rated nursing program and distance from Denver (not too close/not too far).
